The P Series features a precision-molded housing constructed from high-performance engineering thermoplastics — ABS/PC or PSU — providing excellent dielectric strength, corrosion resistance, and significant weight reduction of up to 60% compared to brass equivalents.
The push-pull self-latching mechanism is fully integrated into the plastic housing, delivering the same audible click and tactile feedback as metal versions while eliminating ground loop risks and electrical continuity concerns.
Available in shell sizes 1 and sizes 2, with contact counts from 2 to 16 pins, the P series supports solder, crimp, and PCB termination styles. The connector offers a standard operating temperature range of -40°C to +80°C and IP50/IP65 protection, making it suitable for medical patient-connected devices, portable instruments, and test equipment where patient safety or operator isolation is paramount.

The P Series Plastic Push-Pull Connector is compatible with the following sterilization methods, depending on the housing material selected:
- Ethylene Oxide (EtO) — Compatible; standard ABS/PC withstands multiple EtO cycles without degradation (tested to 50 cycles).
- Autoclave (Steam, 121°C) — PSU option is compatible with up to 100 autoclave cycles; standard ABS/PC material can withstand a maximum temperature of 80°C, so we recommend PSU for autoclave-intended applications.
- Chemical Disinfection — Compatible with common hospital disinfectants (isopropyl alcohol, chlorhexidine, hydrogen peroxide) per our chemical resistance data.

While the P Series excels in static or low-vibration environments (e.g., benchtop diagnostics, patient monitoring cables), its plastic housing exhibits different creep and fatigue characteristics compared to metal. For applications exceeding 10Grms random vibration (e.g., aerospace engine compartments or heavy-duty industrial robotics), we recommend evaluating Reunion's metal Series instead.
